The album's title is derived from a misheard lyric from Don McClean's iconic "American Pie," a song that resonates with frontman Justin Young's reflections on the loss of innocence and the elusive nature of the American Dream. Moving to Los Angeles, a city that has long fascinated the band, forced Young to confront the disillusionment that often accompanies the clash between expectations and reality.

According to Young, pink carnations symbolize gratitude and serve as a reminder that those we've lost will always hold a place in our hearts, encouraging us to keep dreaming.
