Return and Exchange Policy

At The Definitely Maybe, we want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. If you're not, we offer the following return and exchange options:

General Return Policy

  • Time Frame: Returns or exchanges must be initiated within 14 days of purchase. Items returned after 14 days will not be accepted.
  • Process: To return or exchange an item, please include a note with your name, address, and instructions. Send the item(s) to:

Vinyl Records

  • Sealed Records: All vinyl records are sold sealed unless stated otherwise. Opened records cannot be returned for an exchange or refund.
  • Packaging: Records are shipped in double-layered cardboard mailers for protection. We do not offer refunds or exchanges for minor cosmetic issues like corner dinks or seam splits.

Clothing

  • Condition: Clothing must be unworn (except for trying on), unwashed, and in original condition with tags attached.
  • Unacceptable Returns: Items with smells (fragrance, body odour) or signs of makeup will not be accepted.
  • Free Items: Any free items included with your order must also be returned, or their cost may be deducted from your refund.

Return Shipping Costs

  • Customer Responsibility: Unless the return is due to our error, customers are responsible for return postage costs. Original postage costs are non-refundable.
  • Recommendation: We recommend using a tracked or signed-for service for returns. We are not liable for items lost in transit.

Refunds and Exchanges

  • Defective/Damaged Items: If you believe your item is defective, damaged, or incorrect, please contact us immediately. We will strive to resolve the issue quickly.
  • Postage Refunds: If we determine the item is defective, damaged, or incorrect, we will refund return postage costs up to Royal Mail 1st Class signed delivery (£5.00 max for UK, appropriate value for overseas).
  • Decision: The returns team will review each case and contact you with their decision. The decision is final. If an exchange or refund is not appropriate, we will return the item(s) to you at your expense.

Processing Time

  • Handling Time: During busy periods, processing returns and exchanges may take up to five business days.
  • Refund Time: Refunds may take up to seven business days to appear, depending on your payment provider. This timeline is beyond our control.

Exemptions

  • Gift Vouchers: Gift vouchers are non-refundable.
