Originally released in 2000, this album marked the end of an era for the Paul Draper-led band before their eventual breakup in 2003. Recorded at The Astoria, the renowned David Gilmour-owned recording studio, "Little Kix" took a departure from Mansun's classic prog rock sound, embracing more traditional pop structures. Grammy Award-winning producer Hugh Padgham (known for his work with The Police, Genesis, Phil Collins) took the helm for this album, guiding Mansun towards a commercially oriented direction. Despite its divisive reception among fans, "Little Kix" peaked at #12 on the UK Albums Chart and earned a silver certification from the BPI.
