Emerging from the vibrant Britpop scene of the 1990s, Longpigs quickly established themselves as a standout alternative rock band. Fronted by the dynamic Crispin Hunt and featuring Simon Stafford (bass), Dee Boyle (drums), and renowned guitarist Richard Hawley, the band became a cult favourite. Hawley, who later achieved acclaim as the composer of the Olivier Award-winning musical Standing At The Sky’s Edge, played a pivotal role in shaping the group’s sound.

Originally released in 1996 on U2’s Mother label, The Sun Is Often Out featured four UK Top 40 singles, including the timeless hits “On and On” and “She Said.” Now, as part of 2024's National Album Day celebrating Great British Groups, Demon Records proudly presents a special reissue of this beloved album. Pressed on 140g yellow vinyl, this edition brings back the iconic sound of Longpigs for a new generation of listeners.
