ELTON JOHN - Honky Château - Vinyl

Elton John’s 1972 album "Honky Château" is being reissued to celebrate its belated 50th anniversary. The album, which includes hits like the transatlantic top 10 single ‘Rocket Man,’ along with ‘Honky Cat’ and ‘Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters,’ marked Elton’s entrance into global superstardom. Recorded at the legendary Château d’Hérouville (25 miles north-west of Paris), it was originally released in May 1972 and paved the way for a series of classic albums, including 1973’s "Don’t Shoot Me I’m Only The Piano Player" and "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road."

The 2LP vinyl edition includes the nine session demos but does not feature the Royal Festival Hall live performances. The release is accompanied by a booklet containing an essay and images, offering fans an immersive experience into the album's history.
