To celebrate Record Store Day in 2024, Universal Music Recordings and Decca Records proudly present the re-release of Jazz guitarist Amancio D’Silva’s iconic album "Reflections" on limited edition clear vinyl. Originally released in 1971, this album has been long sought after by collectors and connoisseurs, with original copies fetching high prices on the market.

This special edition has been meticulously mastered at Abbey Road Studios using high definition 24bit/192kHz audio files sourced directly from the original analogue master tapes. The package includes images of these historic tapes, offering a glimpse into the album's production process. Additionally, new sleeve notes written by acclaimed author and documentary maker Tony Higgins provide insights into the album's creation and significance. Higgins also serves as the Executive Producer for Decca's esteemed 'British Jazz Explosion' series.

Recorded in May 1970 as part of the Lansdowne Series overseen by influential producer Denis Preston, "Reflections" features twelve instrumental pieces, showcasing D’Silva's mastery of the guitar. The album includes timeless compositions by George Gershwin, Duke Ellington, and Hoagy Carmichael, as well as original arrangements by talented musicians David Mack, Stan Tracey, and Leon Young.

Amancio D’Silva's journey as a musician began in Mumbai before he relocated to England in the late 1960s. His dedication to his craft led him to collaborate with notable figures in the British Jazz scene, including Joe Harriott, Michael Garrick, and Don Rendell, among others.
